This is a 76 pages collection of original guitar pieces composed by the Norwegian guitarist Sølvin Refvik. In the book you will find music with titles like Breez, Wind, Sweet Romance, Pray, six preludes and the suite Twelve Months. This is guitar music in different styles using various techniques on the instrument, and the music is ideal for the guitarist and guitar teacher looking for new pieces to add to his/hers repertoire.
The music is clearly set out and printed in standard notation as well as tabs. You can hear the influences from the great classical guitar composers, but also elements from jazz music are present in melody lines and harmonies. This is romantic, idiomatic and melodic music which sounds good on the guitar.
The music in Play Acoustic Guitar 1 is suited for the guitarist on an intermediate level, although some of the pieces may be easier. There is no CD enclosed with this book. Instead, you can hear (and see) recordings of the music in Play Acoustic Guitar 1 on YouTube and at www.spilletrille.no
